Pelvic floor physiotherapy (PFT) and incontinence rehabilitation
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialized discipline that focuses on the health of the muscles that support the vital organs of the pelvis.
At Therapis, our approach is based on the official certification from the KEDIVIM of the University of Patras (Levels 1 & 2) , offering targeted solutions to conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, organ prolapse and post-pregnancy rehabilitation. Special emphasis is placed on Stress Urinary Incontinence (Stress Urinary Incontinence) , where our patients report significant improvement from the very first session (80% report no incontinence episode after the initial treatment). Stress Urinary Incontinence, is the involuntary leakage of urine during activities such as coughing, sneezing, or exercise. According to international guidelines and clinical studies, it is treated with pelvic floor physical therapy. Specifically, pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is considered the Gold Standard for managing this type of incontinence. Research published in the Cochrane Library database demonstrates that specialized physical therapy is the first line of defense , offering high cure rates and radically improving patients' quality of life.
