Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

What is musculoskeletal physiotherapy?

Musculoskeletal rehabilitation in physical therapy is a fundamental field focused on the assessment, treatment, and prevention of conditions affecting muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. At Therapis, our approach is based on specialized expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, gained through the completion of an MSc in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham, School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences in the United Kingdom, which is recognized by the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT). It is aimed at individuals experiencing pain, injuries, or limitations in movement and function. Common musculoskeletal conditions include low back pain, neck pain syndromes, tendinopathies, sprains, muscle strains, osteoarthritis, as well as conditions resulting from overuse or following surgical procedures.

The primary goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain, restore mobility and range of motion, strengthen muscles, and improve endurance. At the same time, it aims to restore the individual’s functional ability in daily activities and to prevent recurrence or the development of chronic conditions.
